Whitney Arch: Natural arches are the main attractions of Alabama Hills near Lone Pine, California. Over 150 movies have been filmed here, mostly Westerns. At 14,505 feet, Mount Whitney, the peak visible through the center of the arch, is the highest peak in the lower 48 United States. Whitney's summit towers over the Owens Valley, more than 10,000 feet below!
