Lake Abert: No outlet means that water can only leave Lake Abert by evaporation. This could be one of the reasons why the lake smells so good in the summer! Nestled up against the Abert Rim, Lake Abert is one of the largest lakes in Oregon, USA. Before they became extinct, Giant Beavers called Lake Abert home. Some of these prehistoric beavers grew to over 8 feet and more than 200 pounds!
