Reservoir in New Mexico

Morning Watch: Notice the low level of this reservoir near Ruidoso, NM. As the world's population grows, fresh water will become more and more of an issue. Marc Reisner's fascinating book Cadillac Desert: The American West and Its Disappearing Water gives a fascinating account of modern attempts to store and re-purpose existing water flows, and hints at some of the amazing feats of engineering that may be needed to supply ever growing population centers and the farmland that feeds them with fresh water in the future.

I agree with Christine. The beauty is still there, and will still be there when all the people are gone. :)

It is our reality. And we can see the beauty of Nature, yet. Great photo.

Even with such dire contemplations, the sky, the mountain and the bird retain their beauty. The photograph shows exactly that.
