Italy about 10 months ago said: Christine, Nitasha, Mira, Maurice, Mythili, Inge, Ali, Ann, i am grateful for yr warm comments.
***Mira - the lilac colour is not lavender but lentil, a legume that is grown in this area and has special taste and properties. You are watching Pian Grande di Castelluccio di Norcia, the basis of a volcanis lake that disappeared millions of years ago and is now a very fertile valley. The picture is taken from the road edge along the Piano.
***Mythili e Ali - it is the sunrise actually, but you can see more less the same effect at sunset.
***Ann - yes they hay bales
Thanks to everybody for being interested in this place and thanks to my wife for translating :-)
