The High Castle: It is easy to visual the geological time scales here. One can imagine the rocky cliffs stretching even higher eons ago. Every now and then a boulder breaks off and tumbles down, somehow coming to rest in the middle of the steep slope. As the years go by, the rocky mountain top slowly shrinks.
